Google Home or Amazon Echo: Who Will Win The Race of ‘Smart Home’?

Speakers are for listening music, or having sound from an electronic device. Hold on buddy! Google Home and Amazon Echo is not only a speaker but also the communicator. Accorading to Steven Spielberg (an American director, producer, and screenwriter) “Technology can be our best friend, and technology can also be the biggest party pooper of our lives. It interrupts our own story, interrupts our ability to have a thought or a daydream, to imagine something wonderful, because we're too busy bridging the walk from the cafeteria back to the office on the cell phone”. 


Google Home and Amazon Echo is Web-connected speakers that not only play music but also offer helpful information and obey spoken commands are jostling for a place in your living room. Amazon Echo has already entered in UK market whether Google Home will be launched in UK this April 2017. Both have great features, now it is your turn to decide Google Home or Amazon Echo.

Amazon Echo:

Amazon Echo is a 23.5 cm tall cylindrical speaker with a diameter of 8.3cm.
  • Much heavier than other wireless speakers.
  • Somewhat monolithic in appearance.
  • For now the speakers are available in two colors (Black and White).
  • 1.0   Channel speakers (One tweeter and one woofer).
  • Voice assistant name is Alexa.
  • Default Search engine is Bing.
  • More than 130 apps are supported by Amazon Echo



Google Home:


  • Google Home is quite squat - with a shape supposedly inspired by wine glasses and candles.
  • The bottom of the product is covered by a speaker grille and can be swapped out by different colors.
  • For speaker, it has dual passive radiator which delivers “crystal-clear highs and deep lows”. Means sound bluster from a small product.
  • To wake up Google Home you need to say “OK Google”.
  • Search is Google.com 
  • From now Philips Hue, Nest, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT are the apps associated with Google Home.
Both devices are compatible with the same music streaming services – Spotify and Tuneln. In UK the price of Amazon Echo is £149.99. On the other hand as we know Google Home is not available in UK but the product price in USA is $129 (On Sale). However it seems Google Home is a little away then Amazon Echo. We have to wait for a healthy competition between Amazon Echo and Google Home.

Apple Red- A surprise from Apple Inc.

Apple Inc. has introduced a red iPhone for a limited period of time. As an honor for the partnership with Tech Giant and RED (an organization that works with AIDS). Apple Inc has launched their new iPhone7 and iPhone7 plus in red color. The new red iPhone will be in red aluminum body with 128GB and 256GB for the price of $749.    Though it is a limited product, but Apple Inc has not declared any timeframe about the Apple Red iPhone. Apple Inc will donate a handsome amount of money to their partner RED by selling this limited Apple Red edition. But Apple has not cleared the ratio of donation to RED.
